I've owned the Penn Senator 113H for a lot of years and the Daiwa Saltist 30H for 2 years now. I like both reels and when they are not great, they each have their own strengths that's well worth the $175 I paid for them. I like the line capacity/cranking power of the Senator and the high speed retrieve/weight of the Saltist. I have 2 boys now huge sufficient to share the reels when we go out so I researched extended and tough to discover the very best priced reel that I can use for the next ten years. I decided to get the Fathom FTH25N for casting and FTH40LW for bottom fishing. Got it just before Christmas and implemented them both 3 times already on Party boats.
